WATCH CARE
Our watches are very high quality and it is of the utmost importance that when you buy a watch from us that you read your instruction manual to understand how to properly care for your new timepiece!
In the past we have had some confusion about how our watches work. Some of them are Quartz, others are Automatic Watches.
All Quartz watches have a physical battery inside which will power the watch until the battery runs out. These can last anything from about 6-18 months before the battery will need replacing.
Automatic Watches - PLEASE READ: also known as a self-winding watch or simply an automatic, is a mechanical watch where the natural motion of the wearer provides energy to wind the mainspring, making manual winding unnecessary if worn enough. If however the watch is not worn enough, simply by being left on your bedside or dresser then it will run out of power and will need to be manually wound to begin to work again.
Please refer to your watch manual and learn how to do this correctly and rest assured that your watch is not broken!
Please be aware that over-winding can also break your watch spring resulting in this needing to go to a watch repair shop. It is very important that you read your manual before playing about with it.

JEWELRY CARE
To keep your jewelry gleaming, it's important to show it some love. Here are some simple tips on how to take care of your pieces and to keep your jewelry in excellent condition. Athena Allure will not be held responsible for refunding or exchanging items that have been broken as a result of misuse, dropping or user error.
Our jewelry is made from various materials that are all carefully chosen to ensure longevity and maximum user comfort. We want our jewelry to last you many years!
We have a Jewelry that is 316L stainless steel. It is waterproof, hypoallergenic and will not fade for at least 2 years. This jewelry is very robost and fine quality. It can be worn during bathing and exercising without the need for much special care. Our gold coloured jewelry is 14K or 18K pure gold plated.
Some of the jewelry is 925 Silver, this jewelry can oxidise over time if not properly cared for. It is a completely normal and natural reaction known as tarnish. To slow down the process, remove your silver jewelry before showering and intense workouts as moisture and sweat accelerate oxidation (silver reacts to moisture and chemicals in the air such as sulphur, as it does to chemicals and moisture on our skin from lotions and perfumes). Chemicals like chlorine and salt can damage silver so avoid wearing while swimming. Always remove necklaces before sleeping and avoid storing in humid environments such as the bathroom.
Jewelry remains at its shiny best when worn daily or kept in a dry, air-tight box or bag. To clean any tarnishing, simply polish with a soft cloth to regain a silver finish. Regular use of a silver cloth removes light tarnish and inhibits re-tarnishing, prolonging the original sparkle of your silver. If you don't have a silver cloth to hand a microfibre cloth is ideal.
To keep matte finishes clean, wash gently with warm, soapy water. Make sure it is fully dry before returning to its box or airtight bag for storage. Avoid over using a polishing cloth as it may remove the matte finish (if needed, just rub lightly or use a microfibre cloth). Matt/matte finishes are a surface treatment so they will naturally fade with wear (becoming more shiny over time).
If you don't have a jewelry box, we advise you to keep your jewelry in the box it came in or inside a ziplock bag or air tight container. Add in any silica gel packs you have (often found in shoe boxes and vitamin jars) known as desiccants, they absorb moisture so will help prevent and slow tarnish.
